Weekly Least Sandpiper (LESA) night flight call (nfc) activity from all five stations in the Summer 2026 WNY acoustic monitoring transect compared similar data from 2025 (Station 5 is inactive in summer 2026; Kendall is active). LESA calls are automatically detected by Nighthawk 0.3.1 software operating from half an hour after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise (60 min before sunrise in 2025). W. Evans confirmed identity of the automatic detections and removes non-LESA calls. Nfc activity is the sum of all incidences of a correctly ID'd LESA nfc detection that occurred at least two minutes from another LESA nfc detection. Data in this graph is updated weekly through the end of Summer 2026.
